Great book about Henry VIII's 3 children. I thought I knew quite a bit, but there was much more. The book is actaully written in such a way that it is a page turner. Very enjoyable.

This is a historic accounting of the lives of children of Henrry VIII. If you are interested in this period in history this is a good book to read.

A historian who gives her subjects the page-turning intensity they deserve. Her Tudor histories are the best of her work.

Fascinating in parts, however, does not tell much about Elizabeth. The majority of the book deals with Edward & Mary. No illegitimate children are mentioned.

An interesting overview of the successors to Henry VIII - Edward VI, Jane Grey, Mary I and Elizabeth I.

I was disappointed that she says virtually nothing about the rule of Elizabeth I in this book. Apparently she's ignorant of Henry' illegitimate children also.

In that regard, the title is misleading. But if you are only concerned with Mary, Edward and his niece Jane who was made Queen for 9 days (who was not his child but gets as much coverage as if she were) this is an excellent history for you.
