This book is a great basic introduction to different genres of poetry (haiku, villanelle, limerick, ballad, lyric poetry, etc). It also introduces a selection of various major poets with histories and samples of their works. It is very colorful and kid-friendly. I was very impressed and would recommend this for elementary grade levels, possibly through grade 6.
