China Boy
Author: Gus Lee
Fascinating, evocative potrait of the Chinese community in Calif. in the 50's, caught between two complex, demanding cultures. Warm, funny, and deeply moving, this book is a brilliantly rendered novel of family relationships, culture shock, and the perils of growing up in an America of sharp differences and shared humanity.
