Despite my husbands laughter at the name of the book I found it highly enjoyable. It was a very quick read with engaging characters. I really like the lead (although the constant tripping over her tongue is annoying). I will be reading more of this series.

Fairly light mystery, fun to read. The main character is studying to be a CPA, which gave me hope (as a CPA) to see some inside stuff in the book. False hope. She could just as easily be studying to be an optometrist or bull rider, for all the inside stuff that we see. She also has a distressing (to her) habit of saying the wrong word when she knows perfectly well what the right word is. Some of these are funny, but I had a hard time with it at first.
All in all, however, it's a good book and worth reading. I think I will order the second in the series.
By the way, the author's real name is Eve K. Sandstrom. She has written a number of books under that name, too.

The Chocolate Cat Caper was an okay book, but there were things I didn't understand. For instance the main character, Lee, has a speech impediment but it doesn't tell what it is or much about it, just that she says the wrong words. In fact I don't even know if it is a speech impediment. Personally I was interested in the cat, I thought perhaps she loved cats. Being a cat person I was dismayed when she didn't care for the cat, who was the "baby" of the murdered lady. The book didn't seem to flow, and the plot was choppy. The characters were flat and the book was very predicable. I don't think I'll read anymore of the Chocoholic Mysteries series. I get the book three stars, though because I could almost connect with Lee as a character and it is about chocolate. I loved learning how chocolate was made.

This author has a very comfortable voice. I knew "who done it" almost as soon as the first murder was done, but I didn't care. I still wanted to finish the book to see how she handled it, and I ordered two more in this series before I finished the first one. Excellent cozy. This one's a keeper.

I enjoyed this light caper about a recently divorced woman who returns home to live with the aunt who raised her. The aunt makes very exclusive chocolate creations while her niece runs the business side of the enterprise. When her aunt's business is in danger of being destroyed because poison was injected into the confections, quick action and sleuthing are needed.
