Series #11. Fun series about a caterer who also solves mysteries in Colorado. The characters are enjoyable and believable (except for finding dead bodies all the time)and are interesting to follow their lives.

This was a good story. I worked in mall management once, so it was fun to read a story with that setting. Arch's attitude problem was starting to get annoying, Goldy needs to not be such a pushover! LOL! I definitely think this series has gotten better with each book.

This was the first of the series I read. I enjoyed the mystery, but thought the book took a little too long to get where it was going; it would have been better as a shorter book. I also don't like it when a writer leads you through several (and I do mean several) twists and turns and then wraps it all up in a page of action and 5 pages of conversation among characters explaining everything. I'd give it a 6.5 or 7 out of 10.
(Also annoying is the recipes plunked down in the middle of a chapter instead of at the end, so it disrupts the reading process. I know this is the publisher's decision, not the writer, but it's distracting and a mistake.)

When Colorado caterer Goldy Schulz is hired by her old friend Barry Dean to provide a lavish buffet for the opening of his chic new Aspen Meadows mall, the last thing she expects to stumble over is Barry himself, stabbed to death with one of her very own carving knives. When the police arrest her assistant, Julian, for the murder, Goldy launches her own over-caffeinated investigation. There's enough espresso in this culinary cozy to keep the reader wide awake while Davidson's irrepressible heroine sets up the suspects, solves the mystery, sends up a Shopaholics Anonymous meeting, and dishes up 10 recipes for fabulous party food, including the Chopping Spree salad of the title. The plot's somewhat creaky and there's hardly any dramatic tension, but fans of this popular series won't mind a bit.

I liked the book, but the clues are NOT obvious (Except for one in the beginning). So figuring out who did it is not as easy or enjoyable as it is in the other books.

Another great mystery solved by amateur detective and full-time caterer Goldy Schultz!
Another excellent Goldy Schulz culinary thriller. Diane Mott Davidson has scored again!
This was a really good book - twists and turns at every corner so you're not sure who the villan is!
A light, cozy mystery.
Her inventive recipe for mixing first-class suspense and five-star fare has made Diane Mott Davidson a favorite of mystery lovers and a mainstay on major bestseller lists across the country. Now she has prepared another irresistibly tempting tale spiced with mystery and mayhem....
Another great Goldy the Caterer book. A cross between cooking & mystery. Love these books.

Loved this mystery. Several great recipes included, as always
Another well crafted mystery by Davidson. Goldy Schulz is at her flustered best in this tale. The plot is fact paced and believable. The recipies are a bonus that should be tried.
really enjoyed this book by davidson - a must read.
A little too implausible ... she is a fun character so I kept reading
Great series. Fun easy read
Another good suspenseful book! Diane keeps you reading until the end! I love getting the recipes from her catering business!
I've read just about all of her books and though they have pretty much the same things happen in all of them, I still find them enjoyable to read. I rarely figure out the mystery so that also keeps me going.
A good story and some wonderfull recipes

A cross between Betty Crocker and Mary Higgins Clark. Yum-Yum, Uh-Oh!!
Seriously how Goldy makes it through every book sometimes I am not sure. lol But the books are great and this was was just as good as the last one. :) I cannot wait to read the next one in the series.
Colorado caterer Goldy Schultz has a catering business that is going great guns until her trusted assistant, Julian, is suspected of murdering an old friend with one of Goldy's knives. Is it something to do with the shopping mall renovation? Drugs? A lover's quarrel? Goldie has to save Julian; how could she ever replace him?
You just never know who, why, or how in this series til the end of the book. Good amount of action as usual.
Great characters.
Very Good.

A secret recipe for murder.
"A decadently deadly novel" The New York Times has said, and I couldn't agree more!

Another culinary mystery
Dividsons books are all light mysteries. I like that she includes the receipes of all the dishes she mentions.
with the outbreak of an ugly marital spat among the guests, the behavior of Barrys flighty young girlfriend, and Barrys own strange actions after the truck incident, the event is--by Goldys standards--a catastrophe. And its about to get worse. When she goes to pick up her check, she finds an old friend lying dead in a pile of sale shoes--stabbed with one of Goldysnew knives. Hours later, Julian is the prime suspect in the murder. To prove Julians innocence, Goldy must catch the real killer. But to do that, she will have to figure out why the victim was carrying a powerful narcotic. And why was a private investigator called in shortly before the murder? Was the killer connected to a mall renovation project--or the eviction of a disgruntled tenant? Or was the villain the odd lover out in a violent love triangle?
Goldy the caterer is such an endearing character. And she's very clever, too! One of my favorite series ever!
Light, enjoyable read.
Good read, was hard to put down.
