If you need some inspiration for baking for the upcoming holiday season, this is the book for you! It has many recipes I'm planning on trying like Butterscotch Crunch Candy and maybe even the Chocolate Caramels (I have a candy thermometer but am afraid to try it). And it has a great story, too! The murder of a "loose" woman brings tension to small town Lake Eden, MN (it happens to be the state of my birth). Who wants a murder investigation when you should be baking cookies and getting out the decorations? Hannah, with help from a lot of people, including her father who has been dead for many years, discovers the truth and almost gets killed because of it. With a dash of "A Christmas Carol" thrown in, it's a great fun and fast read.

I hadn't read a Hannah Swensen Murder Mystery for quite some time and I enjoyed this one very much. It was a little far-fetched, but for a Christmas story, it was fine.

Nice story for this series. Couple of twists, didn't know who the killer was or why it was done.
This is Christmas at Lake Eden, Minnesota. The holidays have arrived and Hannah and her good pal Lisa have agreed to provide all the treats for the towns annual " A Christmas Carol". Lisa's husband is Santa and his ex-girlfriend Phyllis is Mrs. Claus. Before the curtain goes up Phyllis is found dead in the snow. Soon after the suspects pile up. But the real murderer is on the loose. The clues are hard to find. The question is who did it?
