An excellent Gardening Mystery staring Louise Eldridge who becomes involve in solving the murder of a rival garden television show host who was cutting into her ratings during the holiday season. I would highly recommend this book for a quick read.

This was my first Ann Ripley cozy, and I really liked it. The characters are believable and you can relate to them.
Louise Eldridge has a top rated garden show, but ratings start to slip when Bunny Bainfield enters the market...using sex to sell everything garden. She not only upsets Louise but many others who have all been invited to the first Lady's Christmas Conference on native plants. When Bunny gets poisoned at Louise's table, it's up to her to find out "who done it".

While I did not enjoy this installment as much as I enjoyed the first one I read (Death of a Political Plant), I do enjoy Ripley's style and would seek out more in the series. It's funny, because I have a pretty black thumb, but the escapades of Louise Eldredge, hostess of a PBS gardening series still entertain me!
