Tissues were definitely needed for me. A great story; sad and happy. Wonderful Christmas read. Story of a mother and son's love for each other and how she struggles after losing him. Her grief almost causes her her marriage but this Christmas a little girl comes into their lives and restores the joy.......As I said it'll make you cry, but makes you happy showing you the joy in Christmas..........

I had never read this author before, but I am now hooked on her. A very good read in all three that I have read. She also refers to the previous books when she writes a new one so you can keep up with the previous people. Really enjoyed the them.

Yes, I know it is April and Christmas in not on anyones mind right now, except maybe myself. I have to admit i love cold weather and snow and i find a Christmas story so hard to pass up. You always know it will leave you feeling "warm inside" even before you are done paying for the purchase of the book. Author Donna VanLiere has given the public such lovely novels of the Christmas season. BUT...this story is not only about cold weather and snow and warm fuzzy feelings and decorating the tree and baking cookies. It is sorrow, and life and love and learning. That is what this beautiful novel offers. Something we all can appreciate all year long. Grab so tissues and plot out some quiet time for yourself, i promise you will be glad you read this.
Wonderful story!
Lovely little feel-good Christmas book. I will read the 4th in the series near Christmas, 2012.

Wonderful story of a mother who has lost her only child and thinks she will never be able to find peace or solace in her life. A little girl who becomes an orphan at Christmas time and grieves as only a small child can-with every breath she takes. A whole family that is frozen in sadness and gradually warms to the love and wisdom of a heart-broken child. This is a fantastic book that made me cry as it brings to your mind the real pain that life gives everyone; the heart-breaking trust that children have that everything will be ok. Sometimes the only certainty in life is from the love you share, the love that will sustain your loved ones after you have left this world, the love that you give to others....a circle that is never ending. A must-read that will stay with you at Christmas and all through your life.
Touching Christmas story of hope renewed. Tissues might be needed...
Definitely a 3 tissue book but an excellent read. A story of a mother and son and the grief she has to deal with and the hope that is brought through the children she places in foster homes. An emotional read but well written and Donna VanLiere truly brings the Christmas Hope message. Carol
I loved this book! It's a quick read because it's hard to put down! This one made me cry because it's sad in a few parts...but I love a book that can get me emotional! I recommend it very highly!
LOVED this Book, was both heart breaking and heart warming
This series was amazing. Captured real life experiences you could relate to, which is hard to find at Christmas

A good book to read to get in the Christmas spirit. Get your blanket, a fireplace, your cat and snuggle in for a fun read.
Nathan Andrews, who at eight bought shoes for his dying mother (The Christmas Shoes) and as a medical student fell in love with a young heart patient (The Christmas Blessing), takes a backseat in Van Liere's latest Christmas confection. The focus this time is on Patti and Mark Addison. Patti is a devoted social worker, but she can't seem to feel anything for her handsome pilot husband (they sleep in separate bedrooms), and she can't understand why anyone could feel happy during the holidays. Leave it to a child to teach Patti the meaning of Christmas. Emilywho believes in angels and is possibly the gentlest, sweetest child to ever cavort across a novel's pages since Little Nellquickly insinuates herself into the Addison hearts. Another child's illness introduces the Addison gang to Nathan, now a doctor expecting his own first child. Too much coincidence binds their stories together, but Van Liere serves up another heart-tugging holiday tale.

Interesting spin. The author introduces us to a different family whose lives cross the path of Dr. Nathan Andrews. Heartwarming and inspiring ending to the trilogy.
An inspirational novel of hope and love.
