I usually love Ms. Shay's books, but this one was not one of my favorites. I still enjoyed it, but it was not up to her normal standards.
The conditions of a will is what the plot is all about. An estranged son must follow what he considers silly terms to gain his inheritance, or lose it forever. Nevertheless, romance blooms and love conquers all.

After 15 years, Jacob Steele has returned to his hometown of Riverbend to claim his inheritance. He also wants to check out Kate McMann, the woman who stands to inherit everything if Jacob doesn't fulfill the codicil in his father's will. Jacob, who changed his name to Jay Lawrence, wants to make sure that Kate isn't stealing from his business and his beloved aunts.
Nice solid romance with no surprises. I liked all the characters in this book. I haven't read the other books in the series, but didn't have any problems keeping up with the other characters from previous books. My rating: 4 Stars.
