It wasn't the best Cinderella story but it is definitely different from other books i've read.
This is a sequel to An Improper Aristocrat. The hero is Trey's younger brother Jack. Miss Lily Beecham's outgoing and affectionate father died some years ago, and since that time her mother, an Evangelical reformer, has become more and more repressive. Lily's joy in living has been tamped down by her mum until she's desperate for some kind of fun in her life, and when her mother approves the suit of a man Lily can't like, she rebels. Jack is continuing the investigation his brother Trey began in the preceding book and asks Lily's help.
