Great Sci-fi lots of action and big ideas.
I picked up this book, having read Ringo's KILDAR books, but this is a bit different.
CITIDAL is a technology-oriented and militaristic 'What if' tale. What if Earth (only a few years hence) were to be discovered by a Galactic civilization? A Galactic civilization holding myriads of planets and hundreds of alien races--those races steeped in thousands of years of treachery and back-room politics backed by a Might Makes Right philosophy.
Can one small planet even survive, much catch up with all the other Volkswagens in the race?
I note that the subtitle is Troy Rising, Book 2, though I didn't read #1, and felt no lack.

This is what happens when good authors go off on ego trips. They think they can write anything and people will still buy it.
