A continuation of the Turner and Devry and more families. A good history of New York, ir is interesting, maybe even funny to read parts where Fifth avenue is referred to as 'in the country'. New York has changed. For sure.

Entertainment and an education all wrapped up in one. What a gift this author has of telling a story. The attention to detail of the time period is amazing. This is the 3rd in a series of 4 (so far?) HIstory of medicine, history of religion, history of the country, history of NYC. I cannot say enough good things about this book.
