This was a really quick enjoyable read. Being an Italian-American myself, Clara reminded me of my own Grandmother. Short stories of her life during the depression are mixed with family recipes her mother served during those lean years. Most recipes are quick, affordable and require very few ingredients. I recommend this book to cooks and non-cooks alike.

I just bought this new from PBS. When I buy a cookbook I like there to be pictures so I know what it is suppose to come out looking like. Well there are a couple of pictures (in gray and white) and a bunch of the lady Clara. So not what I wanted, Most likely I wont ever use this book. The edges have a cheap feel to it. Totally disappointed.
