I absolutely love J.T. Ellison's books! Every time a new book comes out, you find yourself wondering what it will be this time that causes mayhem. It was a little hard to get into with the first 20 or so pages but once I did I couldn't stop. LOVE this series!

SO CLOSE THE HAND OF DEATH picks up from 14 (Ellison's second book) to take us on a thrilling ride with The Pretender. Can you read it as a stand alone thriller? Oh, most definitely! Will you enjoy this and all her books more if you read them in order? I think so. But don't let that stop you from reading this one! This is one of her best. J.T. takes you on the ride of your life as she pursues The Pretender!

As always, the writing is impeccable! Tightly written and incredibly suspenseful (one could say terrifying), this will make any thriller lover happy and keep you reading way into the night!

A work of art. J.T. Ellison has a gift for writing the most incredible books. Taylor and Baldwin team up again to catch "the Pretender". A serial killer who always seems to be a step ahead and is looking to take Taylor to her bloody end.

New characters, new author, each book I read has been just as good as the first one, if you haven't tried Ellison yet then you're missing out.

My only problem with this book is that I accidently knew what happened at the end by reading the back cover of the next book thinking that was the next one in the series. If that had not happened this ending would have blown me away, either way the book was great.

I don't write many reviews, but this book deserves all the accolades I can post. The Pretender is ultimately after Taylor. Hurting the people she loves on the way to her. The Pretender is also orchestrating murders to imitate other serial killers. Zodiac, Boston strangler etc. A scary, engrossing, darn good book!

#6 in Taylor Jackson series. Continuing where "The Immortals" left off, Taylor is still being stalked by the Pretender who now has "apprentices" in a vast online game who are committing murders mimicking dead serial killers leading up to Taylor as the final target. Leaks in the police or FBI are hindering the investigation & Taylor finds herself riding the fine line between revenge and justice. Baldwin is suspended from the FBI & keeping a bombshell from Taylor while assisting her with tracking down the murderers. Tension between them causes Taylor to make some rash decisions. Will she live with them or will the Pretender finally take away everything?
