This is a fun read. Sasha is a quirky, busy-body charachter whose cat talks to her. I think I'm going to check out the next in the series.

I thought this book was great. A lot of fun to read. I can't wait to read the next book by this author. I'm definitly hooked. =)
As for the story, it was a pretty good mystery. As for the main character - not really liking her that much. What kind of person carries whipped cream around to shoot into their mouth? Maybe this was supposed to be funny or endearing, but it seemed ridiculous to me. I did finish it and liked it better as it went along than at first. The character is kind of quirky, which is not a bad thing, but it took me a bit to warm up to her.
So hallucination-prone Sasha Solomon just happens to have degrees in psychotherapy and Chinese, and is pursuing a career in PR in a small town in New Mexico. That's just too much of a stretch for me.

An interesting read with a unique character, Sasha Solomon, who uses whipped cream as comfort food and helps solve a murder.
I very much like this book. I have lived in New Mexico for over 15 years and it's so cool reading a story about places I have heard of and can even picture in my head. I really enjoyed this mystery. Very clever. I will definitely read Belen Hitch by the same author.
Fun story but I kept tripping over "how come?" thoughts. The whole alien thing - given the storyline you wouldn't think Sasha would have to do any PR for Clovis since artifacts are apparently just lying about available to be grabbed. Sasha's friend Mae is so unpleasant to her in this story they really must have had an incredible friendship in order for Sasha to take pains on her behalf. Sasha's second major in college was Chinese, she speaks it fluently, but she's having trouble being employed? In public relations? Maybe she tells employers she hallucinates... It does have a good sense of place and some funny bits as well, the whipped cream cans made me giggle every time. The obligatory potential romance with a handsome detective comes up too.

Freshly unemployed New Mexico PR director Sasha Solomon travels to the tiny town of Clovis to bid on a hush-hush project aimed at competing with neighboring Roswell for the alien/UFO tourist dollar. Arriving in Clovis, Sasha stops by her old friend Mae King's cattle ranch-and discovers the body of a dead pilot from a nearby air force base floating in a water trough.
