I've enjoyed using the dear american series for homeschooling. They give a good background of the times in history.

This is a wonderful book told by a new immigrant to America as she grows from a girl to a woman. Very entertaining!

Very historical. I think any historian, like me, would like it.

This book is a heart tugger, that will keep you turning page after page in an unstoppable kind of way. I read it in one day and had to reread it afterwards because it was such an amazing book. Ms. Anetka Kaminska was a very brave girl, and even though all of the happenings in her life weren't the most ideal of situations she finds a way to have a life that flourishes after all. I highly recommend this book and will never (personally) get rid of my copy! Thank you so much to the paperbackswap member who gave this book to me, it's very special to me.
Another installment in the Dear America series, this book would be perfect for any pre-teen or teenage girl interested in history!

Wonderful book like all Dear America books it gives a story that connects you with a small piece of Americas' past. Wonderful feel for the time and place thru the eyes of one young person.
