This left me with the feeling that I should have enjoyed it more than I did. For me, the author was not able to write a main character to whom I could relate. The needed intensity just isn't there and the ending is so badly botched, you will feel as if your brain was sacrificed to a kindergardner.

Much better than the DaVinci Code - doesn't pretend to be nonfiction, either! ;-)

Awesome read especially if you like other authors like Dan Brown etc....

This book fell short of my expectations. The plot twist at the end was too little, too late.

The most disappointing ending of a book ever. No questions answered. The protagonist went on a pointless quest and dragged us with him.

Edward was living the life. He had just been promoted and was moving from NYC to London-big shot banker. While getting ready for his big move he is asked to help a very important client set-up their library-full of very old and very expensive books. Edward is soon in the midst of a wild goose chase, trying to find a rare book for these all important clients. This is listed as a thriller, I beg to differ. I was interested in the characters and the search for the book enough that I finished this, but this is by no means a super interesting read. Also, I didn't enjoy the game vs reality aspect.

Liked it a lot! Reminds me of The DaVinci Code.

Couldn't get past the first couple of pages. The book is filled with too many words in a sentence, almost edging on run-ons.

A good literary mystery with multiple layers of plot. Highly recommended for fans of Dan Brown.

Absolutely riveting book. If you like books, history, computer games and my
stery you will enjoy this immensely. Author is great with descriptions and has peopled this book with interesting characters. I couldn't put it down for the last 50 pages.

Not bad, but the author took some shortcuts to keep the story moving. Worth reading, though.

I really enjoyed this book - interesting and a quick read. I pretty much love any book that is about a search for an ancient book or document or something like that! (I'm definitely a bibliophile :).) That said, it's NOT as good as "The Name of the Rose" or "Possession" as some of the reviewing authors say on the back ... but at the same time, it's worth reading if you enjoy books like that.

This was a good thriller. I liked learning about medieval writing and how bookmakers often used old pages as book covers.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. Lev Grossman has an identifiable style that I find very much to my liking. The story is one of the good ones that keep you reading long after you shouldn't.
