Reichs is falling into the same pit as Patricia Cornwell as her main character accumulates more personal baggage and it intrudes on the main thrust of the story. This one is about a series of macabre crimes designed to copycat old cases Tempe Brennan was involved in. I spotted the Baddy fairly early on but couldn't come up with a motive until the Baddy spelled it out in a cliched confrontation scene. Reichs was better off when her character stuck strictly to the mysteries of forensic anthropology.
