SINISTER HOUSE: Pierre and Annette have recently moved into a new, planned community on the Hudson River. They befriend Eric and Julia, who chose to buy an old, gloomy house nearby. The old house seems to have a detrimental effect on the occupants, especially Julia, although when Eric is away on business she seems to bounce back to her old self. Pierre and Annette's cousin Giles is convinced the problem is Eric and looks into the house's history, discovering dark secrets about the former inhabitants, who may not be so former after all. Originally published in 1919.
