This book introduces a new character who will be the subject of his new book. The case in this book has two active cases, one Rhyme's and one Amelia's. This was his best yet.

Serial killer mystery. The back cover talks about "labyrinthine plots", which is true. The book itself is well-written and of page-turner quality.

Deaver does his usual sleight-of-hand in this Lincoln Rhymes mystery about a serial killer who goes by the name of Watchmaker. As usual, the twists and turns keep coming long after the reader thinks everything is nailed down.

I highly recommend reading this book! The characters are well developed and the plot moves along at a nice steady pace. The book has many unexpected twists and turns. The villain "The Watchmaker" doesn't realize what he is up against with criminologist Lincoln Rhyme.

Another fast-paced Lincoln Rhyme thriller from Jeffery Deaver. This is about the 5th or 6th Deaver novel I've read and I have enjoyed all of them. This one reminded me a little of the first Rhyme novel - The Bone Collector - with a somewhat similar serial killer called The Watchmaker, who likes to make the deaths of his victims slow and painful. However, is this what is really going on here? Deaver is a master of twisting the story and he does so here not once but several times. This novel also introduces another great character, Kathryn Dance, who is now featured in another series of novel by Deaver. A high recommendation for this one.

Incredible twists and turns--one of the best for Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs.

A Lincoln Rhyme novel. Is Sachs leaving Rhyme's team? Amid investigating a possible serial killer and a corrupt police group, this question lingers. Sachs has had trouble dealing with some issues and hs been given an offer from a private company. As she helps Rhyme on the serial killer case and runs a case on her own, she is contemplating leaving the force. This novel has many twists and surprises, then leaves a question at the end.

Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs have only hours to stop the brilliant, icy-cold serial killer known as the Watchmaker, whose obsession with time drives him to plan his carnage with the precision of a fine timepiece. Available in a Premium Edition and includes an excerpt from Deavers newest hardcover, "The Sleeping Doll."

I really like all of the Lincoln Rhyme books, but this one is exceptionally good. The mystery was all but solved 3/4 through the book and I thought, 'now what're they gonna do?'. But the plot only thickened and got even more intense. Highly recommend this one!

In this fascinating serial killer story, the killer leaves a calling-card, a moon-faced clock. This is one of many novels by Deaver which feature Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs. Although it is a long book, over 600 pages, it is very readable. You won't put it down for long!

Great thriller with forensics & kinesics (study of body language). Amelia Sachs and Lincoln Rhyme together again to track down a serial killer, the Watchmaker. A police corruption case too! A solid story with lots of twists and turns with a surprise ending made me give it 5 stars.

One of Deaver's very best. This might have been my favorite of all the Lincoln Rhyme novels. Just when I thought there could be no more plot twists, Deaver pulled out more clever surprises. The basic story is that Rhyme et al. are tracking down a serial killer who seems to be leaving no trace evidence, and who seems to have no pattern to his choice of victims. I can't say much else without giving something away, but this is a must-read for any Deaver fan.

This is the best so far of Mr. Deavers that I have read. He is a master of plots within plots and keeps you guessing on the who, what, why, where and when. The characters are so vivid, and in each book you wonder if Lincoln is going to get better and how the relationship between him and Amelia is going to progress (if at all). In "Cold Moon" you are kept in shivery suspense as to which characters will survive into the next book.

I love the Lincoln Rhyme novels. They are intense. This story had maybe too many twists but that's okay when you're really into the characters and story.

I really enjoy the Lincoln Rhyme/Amelia Sachs books - they get better with each one! And this is the one that introduces Kathryn Dance, who later gets her own book (can't wait till he writes more of those!!).

NY TIMES BESTSELLER - On a frigid December night, an eerie pattern emerges from two equally brutal murder scenes, where a killer's calling card is a moon-faced clock that seemingly ticked away the victims' last moments.

The person who gave me this book said that it was "better than A James Patterson Novel" and they were right. It had all of the things that keep you on the edge of your seat but bad things don't happen to good people. Although you THINK the worst is going to happen, the Author has a talented way of scaring the bejesus out of you without the gore. This was the first Jeffrey Deaver Novel that I have read and I am now looking for more. The characters are clever and real.I highly recommend it.

My first time reading Deaver was in "Bodies left Behind" and I felt he was as exciting a writer as Patterson....one of my favorites!! This was a good read but not as exciting as the first one I'd read...will read more of his work...looking for others as great the "Bodies"!!

A good read- went by pretty quickly. Didn't feel like the material was totally fresh, though; some of the story felt like Deaver was reaching to tie previous stories in. Still, a solid Deaver book.

I think it took me all of two days to read this book. I love how Deaver alludes to previous story lines without leaving the reader in the dark. Its hard to wrap my head around Linc and Sachs being an item, though.

The 7th, I think, in the series about Lincoln Rhyme, a quadriplegic detective who seems to be a permanent consultant for the NYPD. I have not read this series in order and it has not bothered me at all, there is some character development but it is a far second to the murder plots. Rhyme and Detective Amelia Sachs are working a possible serial killer case where the killer leaves an intricate clock next to his victims. Sachs has her own case, the suicide of an accountant that she thinks isn't a suicide. Since this is a novel, of course the two are going to intersect. Deaver always features twists and trick endings in his plots but IMO this one just got too convoluted. Maybe one less twist would have been better. Rhyme of course is very Sherlockian, and...oh wait, no spoilers. Also in this book is a new character to me, Kathryn Dance, a kinesics expert visiting from California. Just by reading body language, she's better than any lie detector. I think I would have liked the character a little better if she weren't so infallible. All in all, a good entry in this series, although to my taste it got a bit complicated by the end.

Bestseller Deaver's twisty seventh Lincoln Rhyme novel (after 2005's The Twelfth Card) pits Rhyme, the quadriplegic NYPD detective, against a brilliant criminal mastermind called the Watchmaker. Assisted by his longtime partner, Det. Amelia Sachs, an expert at forensic analysis, Rhyme probes two bizarre murders linked by the killer's calling carda clock left at the scene. The Watchmaker, as an ominous poem also left at the scene suggests, is bent on executing eight more people in a variety of ways intended to prolong their suffering. Deaver cleverly alternates between the Rhyme/Sachs team and the Watchmaker and his assistant, heightening tension by introducing the next targets and humanizing them. Sachs loses some focus when she also has to probe a suicide that she suspects is connected with some corrupt brother officers. Deaver fans won't be surprised that the investigations overlap, or that the several apparent climaxes are building to something more, but even they will be hard-pressed to peel back all the layers of the cunning plot at work beneath the surface.
