Audio Review:
A classic murder mystery is like a comfortable chair -- it feels right, and you never want to move. Patrick Lawlor's reading of T. Jefferson Parker's COLD PURSUIT is an excellent fit. This novel is about the murder of Pete Braga, who mastered the game of politics, making lots of friends, lots of enemies (including relatives), and lots of money. Detective Tom McMichael is assigned to the case; he has a long family history with the Bragas, some of it violent, and some of it very intimate. Lawlor excels in dealing with McMichael's varying emotions and is particularly adept at portraying the attitudes of the other suspects, including politicians; Braga's nurse, who has her own unusual history; a prostitute; and even the local Catholic diocese. -- AudioFile
