The editors of College & Career Press evaluated more than 2,000 Web sites and picked the "best of the best" to create College Exploration on the Internet.

College Exploration on the Internet will help students, parents, and counselors save time and money as they seek out information on college admissions, campus visits, choosing a major, four-year colleges, community colleges, financial aid (including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs), religious colleges, opportunities for disabled students, special programs for minorities, other postsecondary options such as apprenticeships and military training, and many other topics relating to the college experience.

College Exploration on the Internet has two main sections: College Resource Web Sites and Association Web Resources. The College Resource Web Sites section features reviews of more than 215 of the best college-related Web sites on the Internet for students, parents, school and independent counselors, and other educational professionals. The Association Web Resources section lists nearly 300 Web sites that provide more than 600 online resources and publications about college-related issues. These resources will help students and educators learn more about college options as they relate to more than 350 careers—from accountants to zoologists.

Additionally, a Quick Guide to Resources serves as an extended table of contents that will help users locate Web sites and resources for more than 140 college-related topics. The book also features a list of the 10 Best College Resource Web Sites, a Listing of Counselor Associations on the Web, Short Sidebars About College- and Career-Related Issues, a Glossary of College-Related Terms, and a List of Financial Aid Abbreviations. College Exploration on the Internet has two indexes. The Career Title Index lists specific careers mentioned in the book. The Web Site Index lists every Web site that is discussed in the book.
