After 17 years, Autumn MacAllister returns to her hometown to rebuild her life after an accident almost kills her. One of the first people she runs into is Jack Dillon, a kid she tutored and helped become the man he is today. As the tutored kid, Jack Dillon had a crush on Autumn and now as a man its much more

Autumn has decided to be a reporter until she is ready to go back to smoke jumping, a dangerous and hazardous job. One of her first assignments is to follow-up on the string of arsons occurring throughout the small town. Jack a firefighter becomes the best person to assist her in this task.

But danger seems to follow the couple wherever they go. Does someone want them dead or are the string of accidents just that? And is there a connection between the current arsons and the one that killed Autumns parents and Jacks dad?

I highly recommend reading this book for the romance, light suspense and insightfulness of the authors take on 9/11. The author takes a look a how a childhood friendship can shape into an adult romance and does an excellent job with it. Furthermore, she delves into a firefighters emotions and experiences during the 9/11 cleanup. After reading this book, I feel even more respect and admiration for those firefighters and volunteers who were part of the 9/11 aftermath.

One side note, I wrote the author to find out whether this book will be released again in the near future as it is not available new at this time. She wrote back that she has rewrote it adding steamer parts and its at the publishers for review. I so enjoyed this book, that I will immediately be going out to buy the new version. Regardless, if you are able to get a copy of this version, I definitely recommend it!
