I got this book for a friend of mine who was considering breastfeeding and I just had to read it because I had trouble when I breastfed my children. I sure don't plan on having any more children, but I do wish I would have had this book to refer to when I was nursing my babies! It covers just about everything an expectant or nursing mother needs to know about breastfeeding and answers many more questions some may not even consider asking. Great book! I highly recommend it!

My biggest problem with this book was what I felt was going way overboard on encouraging people to NEVER use a bottle, formula etc. Personally I feel people need to find a balance for themselves and not be made to feel they are a failure if they don't breastfeed exclusively.
This book was a great help with learning how to breast feed both of my children. You can't see waht is going in...So, this helps to decrease the anxiety and is a great resource. Has charts and guides too. IT helped me discover my child had a milk allergy and how to get help.
great resource!
Helpful booklets for the questions you may have.
Also includes information on diet and nutrition for mom.
Great for new moms who want to nurse. very helpful
This book contains a lot of general information regarding breastfeeding. A good place to start.
This is an EXCELLENT book for any new mothers or mothers to be. It answers virtually any question you could possibly have about breastfeeding. I highly recommend it anyone considering or currently breastfeeding.
This is a very comphrehensive guide, but it seems a little dated as you read it. For instance, the advice on nipple shields (admittedly, a controversial item in the BFing world) is simply to NOT use them ever. It also refers to nipple shields as being exclusively rubber, and now they are predominantly silicone. For reasons such as this, the book seems a little obsolete. A new edition is perhaps needed. Additionally, the tone of this book is very "lovey." Lots of talk of bonding and the beautiful "symbiotic relationship." Blah Blah Blah. I really wanted a more frank and forthcoming voice to acknowledge that breastfeeding is hard, demanding, frustrating, and often an isolating and thankless task. That's just me though.
"Complete coverage of all aspects of breastfeeding from the mechanics to the psychological ramifications...Virtually every chapter adds something new and vital." -ICEA
