A collection of short stories that were rather autobiographical in nature that gives a terrific glimpse into the decadent nature of late nineteenth/early twentieth century French citizens. I was suprised by the risque nature of the book considering when it was written but there were equally moments that touched universal emotions. The nice thing about this book is you can take your time and read just one of the short stories and then return to it later.
