Excellent collection of Poe's best -- a true classic edition for any library.
its classic, what more can i say?
"One of the most original American writers, Edgar Allan Poe shaped the development of both the detective story and the science-fiction story. Some of his poems - "The Raven" for example, remain among the most popular in American literature." from the back cover. This edition is the paperback Vintage Pub. 1975 edition (wt aprox 22 oz)
This is a terrific collection. I love the size of the book and the layout as well. Very pleased with this purchase!
Repetitious. I can see the fright factor for the time period and the fact that Mr. Poe did not publish them all at once, so it would not of been so repetative for the readers. Put all together in one book, not so much. I had higher hopes going into the book from all the other writers referencing his work. I was let down. For example, I found Mr. McCammon's Usher's Passing more frightful, then Mr. Poe's House of Usher. Sad am I.
