I loved this book! One of her best. A hot hero even if he has in the past been a bit of a man whore. The heroine deals wiith this fact in great stride and even punches one his conquest in the face.(good for her). He saves her and a ophoran boy but in return she has to sleep with him along the way. So it is a very interesting journey. Old lovers, renegades, a devious sister-in -law, and a creepy banker. make for a great read.
A fun read. Like most of Hannah Howell's novels, its an easy read with little mystery. You know whats going to happen next...her books tend to follow a certain guideline and most of the stories are the same, with different characters. But still enjoyable to read. I've enjoyed her books because they are easy reads that don't require alot of thought or effort.
Great love story w. two most unlikely characters: A prim
proper Boston Lady & a mixed Indian Rogue Charmer. They
suffer their trials & tribulations, but end up together
in the end making for a wonderful happy ever after!

I felt this passion filled romance had just the right amount of action and adventure needed to make this book a winner as I pictured myself living Emily's journey thru the old west with her terribly sexy and valiant guide.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Conflict between hero and heroine without the angst that was so common in the 80's. Good read.
Cute Read from Howell the trend in the westerns seem very similar but well written for the 1980s.
Emily Cordelia Macon Brockinger was a proper lady Boston born and bred. So nothing could have shocked her more thoroughly than Cloud Ryder's outrageous proposal. He would guide her safely to her brother's home in the San Luis Valley ...if she shared his bedroll on the way.
