"Compromising Positions" was a very funny & entertaining book. I truly enjoyed it.
I felt the plot became a bit unbelievable though, but Isaacs' humor and writing style carried me through-enough so, that I ordered its sequel,"Long Time No See" from another paperbackswap member.

Great characters.
Unhappy, bored wife finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. Similar to many plottings--but well-written
A light hearted look at a neighbor murder. Sort of a "Desperate Housewives" before there was a "Desperate Housewives".
endorsements back cover: Froth of a book, Zippy, A big winner, Clever satire, Impeccable constructed mystery, Wickedly subversive wit
A mystery with humor. I see it as pre Evanovich/Stephanie Plum. A good read!
Loved this book. A funny mystery great.
Murder, mystery, romance, sex, in Susan Isaacs witty style. A fun read.
A fun mystery that was made into a Susan Sarandon movie.
Real Page Turner! Keeps you involved and wanting to know who it is......
Older book but really good
Judith Singer, the protagonist of Compromising Positions, is intelligent, brash and witty. But she is trapped by her lifestyle in Shorehaven ("minutes from Fitzgerald's East Egg"); a stuffy husband ("Judith, don't tell me you haven't gained weight. I can see it in your waist.") demanding children ("I hate her peanut butter. It's the smooth kind.") and a stultifying suburban home ("two weeks of accumulated laundry").
When Dr. Bruce Fleckstein, a local periodontist and notorious stud, is found murdered, Judith's life takes an interesting turn- and is infused with a sense of purpose.

As they would murmur at his funeral, Dr. M. Bruce Flecksten was ne of the finest periodontists on Long Island. And so good-looking. But as he turned his muscular, white-coated back for the last time, he had no notion that he had shot his final wad of Novocaine, probed his ultimate gum.
This is a very fun read. Susan Isaacs does an excellent job of creating realistic characters although hers tend to be more than a bit on the whiny side. Still, a very enjoyable read.
