England Early 1800s
Excellent! Elizabeth Boyle does not fail with her story of Thalia. Having read all of her prior books, I have been waiting for this (and most especially Pippin's) story for a long time. The story is page turning. The hero, who had a small role in a former book, is wonderfully suited for Thalia and she for him. Their relationship never leaves me wanting. The dialogue is witty and the characters irresistible.
A definate recommendation.

a pretty quick read, I finished it in a few hours.
The characters weren't bad, if not fully fleshed out.
And it's not too angst ridden, and the story is pretty easy to follow. More details on The Hero's past would have been nice... we're told he's more or less tortured, and we even know why, but we don't really FEEL it, and it didn't really seem like the Hero felt it either (he comes off as a tiny bit angsty, not because he thinks he is, but because the author tells him he is, if that makes sense) Though him being a super spy is a bit hard to believe as he ended up getting help from a rather campy (though cute) source to bring us our HEA.
It's been awhile since I've read a historical, and I have to say this didn't really encourage me to read another one anytime soon. I will say that she built up the next book quite well though. The secondary characters definitely got your attention, though I didn't always like them.
It was cute though, so worth the read, if for no other reason then to cross it off my TBR, but definitely not a keeper.

I just love Boyle's writing. The stories are good and it is interesting to see her weave everyone's lines together. Everything just comes together nicely if you read the entire series. This one is about Tally and a hero that is just perfect for her.

Not as good as some of her other books but still a good read.

Very good storyline, engaging characters & character development, a bit of mystery, some romance, & a twist that I never saw coming make for a good Regency romp. It helps if you have read some of Ms. Boyle's previous books, just to clarify the characters, but it isn't required, as the story holds up by itself. Enjoy.

I loved this book, it was so cool to think that just a new gown would make you into something completely different. Wonderful storyline, excellent characters and secondary characters. You can't put it down.
