The main character of this book is pathetic not sympathetic. She whines and mopes through her self-proclaimed pitiful existence, while going to Cannes and Sundance film festivals and endless star-studded Holywood events. Poor her!
The book has endless and tiresome references to movie scenes and dialogue that the "heroine" views her life through. Bottom line, on the last page I didn't care about her or her life.

A really funny, witty book. She is so funny how she relates her relationships to movies. If you are a movie buff and you like chick lit, then you will love this book. A good, quick read.
This is a brilliantly funny first novel by a very clever author. McArdle manages to incorporate the L.A. movie publicity scene, the breakup of an inter-faith engagement, sick pets, and the threat of eviction into a wickedly amusing tale. Well-written. Recommended!
