I typically enjoy celebrity tell-alls, but this was not one of my favorites. For me, Karrine did not come off as the least bit likable. She seemed to blame her wild life and mistakes she made on her upbringing. And while she may not have had the best childhood, there are plenty of people who have had equally poor upbringings, yet have gone on to become well adjusted and responsible adults. It was glaringly obvious that she had poor self-esteem, but I still found it difficult to feel sorry for her...

Even though the sensationalism in this book didn't shock me, however, it was a very engaging read. I read it in less than 24 hours because I always wanted to know what was going to happen to her next. I think my only concern with this book would be those younger, more impressionable ladies that might read this book and instead of learning from Karrine's mistakes, might somehow look up to her as a "shero" of some sort. She paints a very exciting, yet destructive lifestyle and I don't reccomend this book to young ladies under 16 years old.

I was so not impressed. I read A LOT and this book was a complete waste of my time. this book is about her bragging about all the high profile guys she has "Done" and does not really touch on child she neglected and how she has over come her abusive life.

This book started out strong, and fizzled out toward the end. The big problem is that she constantly states that her book is a cautionary tale for young women, but she really doesn't seem to learn any lessons or change her behavior. She was treated poorly by most of the men she slept with, but never decided to change her behavior. If it wasn't boasted as a cautionary tale it probably would have been more entertaining, instead it's frustrating because the reader is left waiting for her revelation/change of heart/whatever and is left with nothing but the same behaviors with weak justification. Again, if it was just her personal memoirs, it would be a mediocre book with a sad story, but her insistence that she learned some kind of hidden lesson makes it seem like a waste.

I am surprised I was even able to finish this book. The woman really needs to get a life, be a better parent and stop writing trash!

This was jusy okay and don't even waste your time on the second one. I've read both and the second says pretty much nothing that anyone would care to know. The first details the men she slept with....who cares?

OK she had a bad life but, sleeping with a bunch of men in the entertainment industry doesn't justify that. And why say it's a tell all book if you're not going to tell everything.

This lady had a bad life......if it is all 100% true.
Fact: It's a book, a book is supposed to sell to make $$$$$.
So how do we know some of it isn't fabricated??

Throughout the book she kept saying she knew she had to change, but went right back to screwing all the top rap artists, leaving her son behind.
She left her son with babysitters to screw guys.
Priorities a little out of whack.

The "famous" lifestyle must have been better than seeing her own son grow up. I found it tiring, the book. Just when I thought she couldn't have slept with anyone else "famous", she busted out with another name drop. I literally rolled my eyes.

I read this book in less than a day, it was an easy read, a little unbelievable, and hard to swallow, no pun intended. If you read the book, you'll get the pun.

I will read her next book, just to see what other BS she has to write about. I won't be buying it though, just like the 1st, I'll get it from a trading site. It's like, "I'll wait for video", when you see a B movie advertised.

This book is an instant best seller. It's a bio on Karrine Steffans life as an actress, dancer and companion to many celebrities especially in the hip hop industry. Very interesting, easy read.

I was not impressed with this book at all. She used her body to get what she wanted from men and used her childhood as an excuse for her bad behavior. I feel sorry for her son which she really neglected. I would certainly not recommend this book for any young girl to read. And to mention the names of her so called famous lovers in this book was really in poor taste and I'm sure only done to sell her book.

and yep, it's for that reason. First off, I gave this book (along with her other one) 5 stars because it's well-written. The wording, pace, tense, and storyline are all excellent. And that's what we're rating- the book. You will be sucked into this story and flipping pages to see just whose path (and who else's you-know-what) this woman came across. But then just try to take yourself out of judging her. It's hard. She's basically a woman who sexes her way (not even to the top) but through the men of the hip hop and rap world (yes, you WILL know the names she names). I often felt sorry for her, why she felt she had to make her way through the world on her back and not her own two feet. Expecting others to pay her way every step of it. But that's her LIFE. As for her book, I commend her on a great, interesting job.

Total disappointment. She made herself sound dumber than I already thought she was. I would not waste my time with this one. Take it from me. After the 3rd chapter, I knew this was a piece of crap. Why would you tell the world HOW DUMB you are!!!! Ugh like i said a total waste and so is the other book video vixen.

Despite what you may think of her or her lifestyle, the book is very entertaining.

Eh. I read this when it first came out and I wasn't impressed. She really didn't give any dirt on anyone and was very secretive about some things. It made me think some of them never happened and it's all wishful thinking on her part.
She basically shows that she's just like her nickname, Superhead, a ho. I feel sorry for her son the most.
Everything was someone else's fault- nothing was her fault even though she's screwing half of Hollywood. Hmmmm.
As a sidenote- her second book sucked even more. I hear she's writing a third. After this and the second, which is absolute garbage and was solely written because she knew she make money since people would buy it, I won't give her anymore of my money or time.
She can be a ho without me reading about it.

I thought it was a good easy read. It jumps around in the story telling but a great book for gossip lovers.

i read this all in one morning, but i really enjoyed it. whether or not all of superhead's stories are the true account or contain only partial truths, it was an interesting glimpse into her life, and i can see why it was on the best seller's list for so long.

I loved this book! It gave some insight into her life. This one will really make you think before you judge a book by its cover. There is a lot more to her than what you hear. Very interesting book and I blasted through this one day. Highly recommended.

This is the story and memoir of Karrine Steffans: a dancer, sctrss, and companion to many a celebrity. It is also the first true account of how women are treated in the music industry. By sharing her story she hopes that she can help some other young women avoid the pitfalls she encountered. It is a page turner.

I Bought The Book And Read It Fairly Quickly. Although It Was A Good Book It Wasn't As Good As Expected An The Ending was Not All That Either. I Just Ordered And Recieved Her Other Book The Vixen Diaries So I Hope This Is Better. Overall All A Good Book Could Be Better. The Hype For This Book Was Too Much Although She Named A Few People Bot Nearly As Much As They Made It Seem And All The people Knew Each Other So Pretty Much They Smashed N Passed While Giving Money In Between.

Confessions of a Video Vixen is the widely anticipated memoir of Karrine Steffans, the once-sought-after sexy siren who appeared i the music videos of multiplatinum hip hop artists such as Jay-Z, R. Kelly and LL Cool J. A top-paid video dancer, Karrine transitioned to film when acclaimed director F. Gary Gray picked her to costr in his film A Man Apart, starring Vin Diesel. But the movie and music video sets, swanky Miami and New York restaurants, and trysts with the celebritites featured in the pages of People and In Touch magazines only skim the surface of Karrine's life.
This memoir-part tell-all, part cautionary tale-show how Karrine came to be the confidante of so many, why she kept their secrets, and how she found herself in Hollywood after a life marked by physical abuse, rape, and drugs-all before she was twenty-six. By sharing her emotionally charged story, she hopes to shed light on an otherwise romanticized industry.
