Lisa Samson is my favorite author, but this is the first book I read done in a historical context. She weaves a great story line with memorable characters with enough plot twists to keep me guessing throughout the book. While not the "stay up all night, can't put it down" variety, this is a wonderful book about the middle ages.
Love is their destiny...As the Norman forces gather strength, Lilla, a lonely weaver woman of strong faith, happens upon a wounded monk in the forest. Nursing him back to health in the confines of her tiny hut, she discovers this man is not a monk at all, but Griffin Eadricson, the son of the once-esteemed royal stonemason to the late King Edward...and now a wanted outlaw.
In this unforgettable epic set in Medieval England, one man's quest for meaning and one woman's quest for hope brings them together as they yield to God in the fight for freedom and love.
