The author, Sister Carol Anne O'Marie was a Roman Catholic nun who ran a shelter for homeless women in Oakland California. She wrote cozy's whose protagonist is an elderly nun, Sister Mary Helen.
In this cozy, Sister Mary Helen investigates how a young woman, dressed in layers of clothes, came to be shot in the street outside a San Francisco women's shelter (as well as 2 other murders that take place in this cozy.) This is a fun read that will engage your mind as well as entertain you. The author deals with social issues without getting "preachy."
