Power was Logan Fortune's lifemate. The executive had no time for a wife or child... until a curly-haired tot was dropped on his desk. Logan's heart was immediately captivated by his adorable baby girl. But the confirmed bachelor's plan to bacome the perfect dad needed the help of the only woman the corporate cowboy depended upon.
His ever-loyal assistant, Emily Applegate, would surely care for his child without romanticizing the situation. After all, the prim and proper Emily had never elicited passionate feelings in her boss before. And yet, as the shy secretary blossomed in her role as temporary mother, Logan began to feel the pull of attraction -- and the need to make Emily his... in every way.

i'm not really into this kind of book, but it was ok. logan finds out that he has a daughter when the baby's mother dies. logan isn't ready for the job of daddy, so he asks his assistant, emily, for help. emily ends up helping him more ways than one. logan and emily have always work well in a professional setting, so it's no surprise when they work well on a personal level. maybe they worked a little to good this time.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Of course, the formula is a classic one: rich guy finds out he's a dad, has to take responsibility, and finds the closest non-relative female to depend on. However. Emily knows that Logan is a dog where women are concerned and she does not fall for his lines. The sexual tension is held really tightly in the story, and the emotional tension is even tighter. Emily is not willing to be just another of Logan's conquests, but Logan is determined to have Emily. Throw in an precocious two year old, an adorable gold cat, and a wealthy Texan family and you've got a winner.
