I always enjoy Chapman's rugged on the outside, honor bound alpha males and her smart heroines. This book felt a little more didactic, like she had to keep reminding us that it was important for Carolina to acknowledge her intelligence and for Alec to recognize and appreciate it. While still delightful, I appreciate that kind of acceptance when it's done more subtly. Still a great read! I'm always happy to "visit" Maine with one of these romances.

loved this new series
This was another good read by Janet Chapman.
Carolina is sick of her father telling her what to do. Even if he is basically the king of the universe she has her own mind and plans! She enlists the help of friends, changes her name to Jane and immediately gets kidnapped. Alec Mackeage to the rescue! What happens next is the stuff that makes Janet Chapman so enjoyable.
