This is a crazy story that reads like a novel that I could not put down. Julia and Paul Child meet In India while they are both in the OSS. Little do they know that years later one of the people that they befriend there and in the OSS, that Mc Carthy will come after many of their friends who will be discredited and lose their jobs.Paul who was in the diplomatic service in Germany got recalled to Washington and grilled about whether he was a homosexual and his past friends. He became very angry because he was married to Julia and he was not gay. But the investigators kept on baiting him to say that he was gay and he would be fired. But are some of their friends Soviet Spies? This book is like a whirlwind. There are some amazing twists and turns, you think that you know and then you do not. This is a real mystery, thriller and romance in one.
