Here is the next read.  We'll read this and discuss mid Sept, so you have lots of time to order and read.

Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke.

Okay, I have extra credits, so, after I checked and my library doesn't have that one (I knew they had several Flukes, I have read some of hers from my library), I went ahead and ordered it. I want in on the book club!

Latricia, Welcome aboard.   We do have fun in this book club.  No cleaning to host a group, though in books that have recipes we sometimes cook and share our opinions  on them.

Queenreader,  welcome.   We're only on our second cozy, but this bookclub has been around for close to a year.  We recently read   Sticks and Scone.

I come up with brilliant discussion questionsblush, and we just have fun.

There's salmon cakes? That sounds like an amazing idea. I've been craving those. Now I will just wait for my book and try her recipie - or some combanation of hers and mine, or - well, anyway, I'll wait for the book. But I really like my own salmon cake recipe.

I think mine is lost in limbo. It was marked delivered last Friday but it wasn't delivered to me.

I am approximately half way through the book and, although I am enjoying it all right, I am somewhat overwhelmed with all the characters -- I can´t keep track of who is who!  This is my first Fluke book, though, so maybe that has to do with it.   And I don´t know if I just missed a sentence explaining it or what (I read right before falling asleep), but why is Hannah attending all the reunion events when it isn´t even her family -- just because she makes cookies for them and her business partner is related to them??  And how old is Hannah supposed to be, anyway?  She seems quite young.

I am reading in full "fluff" mode -- not trying to figure out whodunnit or anything,  just along for the ride.

I am currently in the middle of making the "party cookies" recipe from chapter 14;  I made the dough a little while ago and it is chilling.  (Actually, half is chilling and half is in the freezer for another occasion.)   I plan to cut and bake tomorrow.  I dyed my dough red and green and am thinkjing about maybe drizzling them with white chocolate.   I´ll post a photo if they turn out okay.

:-)

I haven't started reading it yet.  I don't want to read it too early because I forget too much by the time the discussion starts.  I'll start it in the next couple days.

Photo of the "Party Cookies" as posted on my FB page:

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152001889895551.886542.783170550&type=3#!/photo.php?fbid=10152059106130551&set=a.10152001889895551.886542.783170550&type=3&theater

The colors are a bit garish here, but I needed them to be red, green and white for a certain occasion.  I took the "leftover" cookies to work today and they were made much of, which kind of surprised me because yeah, they were good, but nothing unusually fabulous beside the fact that you can make them in whatever color scheme you need..  It´s just a basic sugar cookie recipe and I filled some with frosting (out of a can) and drizzled others with white chocolate.
