On the whole, I really enjoy Jennifer Crusie, however, I found this book disturbing. I find the subject of being stalked by an ex-lover incompatible with what is otherwise a light romantic romp.
Your mileage may vary. It's competently written.

This is not a cozy mystery and it is not a conventional romance, so I guess I would call it chick-lit...the sex didn't make me uncomfortable but there are a couple of creepy characters who do. This was okay for a lazy Saturday read, but definitely not a keeper. If I read anything else by this author, I will pick it up from the library.

Jennifer Cruisie always makes me smile. She has mastered her craft and truns out a tight, fast paced story. Her characters are full of life and energy, if somewhat goofy in a dull way at first. Until I fall in love with them, that is.

A fun read.
Quinn McKenzie breaks up with her long time boyfriend, Coach Bill Hilliard -- the town of Tibbett's championship coach, because she wants to keep the stray dog she has found and she wants something different and more exciting in her life.
Then things do get exciting -- she explores a new old love, buys a house and her ex turns into a stalker determined to win her back. And she's not the ony one in town causing excitement.

Fun, quick read - a dash of romance, a dash of comedy, and a bit of a dark twisty side...

I found the book a little slow to start, but some surprising, although gradual, plot twists made it a book I could not put down.

A very good book about the lives of friends that are tired of living a dull life and decide they need to spice it up some and make some changes. Some characters are very funny, some are psychotic.

The suspense REALLY builds in this one! Loved it.

I can't recommend any Crusie book enough. She's just too funny, offbeat, and not the same tired chick lit.

The bad guy was REALLY creepy, but the hero was kind of flat.

Loved this Jennifer Crusie mystery mixed with humor!

A little predictable, but a lot of fun to read. Crusie always spins a tale that will bring a smile to your face.
A crazy mixed up Romance story to make you laugh, an ex-boyfriend to build the tension, and a cute little dog, named Katie, for the dog lover's. Unfortunately, Katie is almost forgotten in the 2nd half of the book, but she does re-enter the story for the grand finale.

Amusing novel about a woman who decides to break out of her boring, beige life.

High school art teacher Quinn McKenzie is bored with her life. She realizes she needs to change when she adopts a stray dog and her boyfriend objects. Instead of getting rid of the dog, she breaks up with her dull boyfriend, buys her own place, and decides initiate a romance with her best friend, Nick, who also happens to be her former brother-in-law. Suddenly Quinn's boring life is out of control. Her dog is kidnapped, her former boyfriend refuses to believe their relationship is over, her mother comes out of the closet and kicks her father out of the house, someone is breaking into Quinn's house to sabotage it, and Nick refuses to sleep with her.
This is another funny romance from Jennifer Crusie. Not only do we get Quinn & Nick's romance, but there is a secondary story about Nick's brother, Max, and his wife Darla. And Quinn's ex-boyfriend, Bill, goes from boring to strange to scary in the course of the story. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Delightful~
Ms. Crusie is one of my favorite authors! I have really enjoyed each of her books and will always be very quick get the next one!
Funny and clever
She's such a quirky author....like that about her books.
What's not to like about a Jennifer Crusie book?
Another great Crusie book! Very light and easy to read...
This book is sexy and funny. I think girls really do like not so nice guys. Very nice guys tend to be boring.
The ex-boyfriend here was crazy..very crazy.

I really enjoy Jennifer Crusie books. They are very breezy reads!
Love her stories! She is a VERY funny author, I read these books for the wit!
After reading two of her books, I've decided that I like this author. Her books (based on the 2 I've read) have a simple formula: 2 people meant to be together either resist and/or are kept from being together, add sexual tension, add a few other interesting characters and move the plot from two people alone to two people in bed:-) I enjoyed this book, but as with the other one that I read, thought it was about 2 chapters too long. That said...here I am on vacation, and wishing I had another book by this author with me. Her writing did make me smile and I loved the easy, fun read.
I think this is one of Jennifer Crusie's better books.
Sometimes a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do, even if it's not the most popular thing. Crazy for you started slow, I wassn't swept into the story like some of Crusie's others. But as the story progressed it became more interesting. Light, funny, with a hint of suspense, overall it was a quick and fun read.
Standard chick lit - but entertaining nonetheless.
Exciting, funny read from the beginning to end with some sadness when characters are hurt and hurting. Quinn, Bill, Nick, Zoe and Katie the Lil dog are some of the characters wanting love, change, no change.
Very entertaining book with characters you love to read about.
Love this book! Such a fun read!
Very good - funny, heartwarming, sexy & suspenseful!
Witty, lighthearted, romantic tale.
First book I have read by this author, I liked it and plan to check into others.
Another great Crusie book! Funny, suspenseful, with great characters that really draw you into the story. And as in most Crusie's, a great little dog too! What more can you ask for?!
A funny, entertaining book.
On Wednesday, Quinn McKenzie changes her life. On Thursday, she tries to get somebody to notice. On Thursday night, somebody does. Suddenly, she's coping with dog-napping, breaking and entering, seduction, sabotage, stalking and secrets.
I love this authors work and this is another great romance with great characters. A very steamy read!
As usual, Jennifer Cruise wrote a great book. This book had a psychotic ex-boyfriend who was a surprise. At the beginning he just seemd like a dud. But, the more I read, the crazier I realized he was. The rest of the characters had their own quirks, which enhances the story. I started this one about 9:00 am and was done by 5:30 PM, and that included many breaks in my reading. I just couldn't put it down.
This book has humor, sex, romance, small town life, action, violence-you name it!
This is one of my favorite books ever. There's just something about the characters that pull you in. It goes to show that just because something looks perfect from the outside doesn't mean it's not rotten in the middle. Love the sexual tension between the main characters and their best friend relationship. It's a good book and definitely worth the credit.
This was a good book. When she leaves a relationship that was going nowhere, changes are made. Lots of changes...good or bad? You'll have to read it!
Fun and funny -- another great chick lit book to curl up with. See just how Quinn McKenzie breaks out of her beige life...
Great read - funny, witty, sexy.
great book about breaking out of your 'everyday' self.
I couldn't get into this one.
Good book!! If you like a little humor in your books, this is for you.
I have read them all, they blend together.
This was a really good book. Fast read.
This was sooooo good......so hot, it sizzled!!
I loved this book. Jennifer Crusie has such a way with words. This book is funny as well as romantic. It's a great read. A real pick-me-up.
Readable, well-developed characters, plot interesting enough for a romance. Knocked it off in a day and enjoyed it.
Classic Jennifer Crusie -- crazy, funny, and a bit confusing...
Steamy...but not just a typical romance!
This book is great! It kept me turning pages and even laugh out loud.
Fun story with snappy dialogue.
Great book
very good read. Crusie is very entertaining!
Sexy and funny book about a teacher looking for a way to liven up her life and a stray dog.
could not get into this one
You can't go wrong with Crusie!
I've loved every Jennifer Crusie book I've read. As I read this one, I kept picturing Clancy Brown as Bill.
From Kirkus Reviews
Romance has a new star in Jennifer Crusie (Tell Me Lies, 1998): if Crusie had written Our Town, Emily Gibbs would have lived a longer life and died a happier woman. Quinn McKenzie is in a rut. Her little-town life in Tibbett, Ohio, is boring, dull, even "beige.'' Though she lives with Bill, Tibbett's most winning coach, she doesn't precisely love him, but went along with the idea of cohabitation simply to avoid an argument. Quinn's mother is also in a rut: she goes to garage sales with her friend Edie and waits on her husband Joe, who watches ESPN day and night. And Quinn's best friend Darla is in a rut; she thinks her husband is interested in Barbara the bank officer, who changes her hairstyle each time she sets her cap for a different married man. But Quinn's existence goes through a tectonic change when she adopts a small neurotic dog named Katie. Bill, who doesn't want a dog, takes Katie to the pound, causing a furious Quinn to leave and move into her own house, where she begins to reexamine her life. She sets her cap for Nick Ziegler, the bad-boy mechanic who was once married to her more exotic sister Zoe. Nick doesn't like to make commitments, and he fights his feelings for Quinn until the day he decides they should have sex once, to get it out of their system. But as romance fans know, one time seals his doom. By the end, Quinn discovers that her mother and Edie have been doing more than cruising garage sales together; Darla finally gets her husband's attention; and Kate has an empowering (for her) confrontation with Bill. The only jarring note in this sexy, lighthearted confection is Bill, who turns into a pretty serious nutcase. Crusie should stay with her strengths, which mark her as one of the few in the genre who can make you laugh out loud.

Another fun read by Jennifer Crusie.
Entertaining chick-lit, as all of Crusie's books are. You'll laugh and be eager to know what happens next, but this book won't change your life.
Jennifer Crusie books are fun & quick reads & this one is as well!
