Sadie caught her hubby with his hand up a co-workers skirt and mistletoe dangling from his crotch. Suddenly all the past uneasy thoughts and suspicions were validated. Fast forward a little over a year later and the divorce is final. Sadie is headed to her crazy aunt Dodys house on Lake Michigan for a summer vacation with her 2 kids.

Sadie spends her days watching the sexy Scottish Doctor neighbor, Des, jog, while trying to convince herself she isnt interested in him romantically.

Crazy Little Thing is filled with jokes, craziness and a family I felt right at home with. They are lovable in their eccentricities, yet still so everyday normal! Had Aunt Dody not been so flighty she could have been my aunt. Her cluttered, lovable and free spiritedness was so familiar and heartwarming to me.

The romance between Des and Sadie is adorable and real. It is filled with all the excitement of new relationships and all the fumbles that happen when you really start to get to know someone.

As much as I loved the laughs, the family and Des and Sadies romance, there is something that held me back from completely falling under this books spell. I cant quite put my finger on it as I dont think the current content is lacking, its that there is a depth or layer of the story that was never explored or added. I feel like there is a layer of emotion or feeling that was left out. All the right ingredients, it just wasnt nurtured to its full potential - If that makes any sense.

The author hails from Michigan, my home state. As a fellow Michigander I feel the need to point out that the Edmund Fitzgerald went down in Lake Superior, not Erie. As I read an advanced reader's copy, I am hoping this mistake gets corrected before the final edit.

This book is definitely a fun, light-hearted and smiley read. I grinned almost constantly and it left me missing the summer when I too was lounging on a sandy Lake Michigan beach!
