I Found this book a good read for those who like Romantic Suspense.
When she believes her husband is murdered and the lives of her and her daughter Sophie are in danger, Robin Spinney changes her name to Annie Kendall and moves to Maine. There, she encounters Davy Hunter the interim chief of police who is confronting his own demons. Breton delivers great romantic tension and a decent murder/thriller plot. This book has some of the same characters as her book "Lethal Lies," but it couldn't really be called a sequel. In fact, I liked this one better!
Took a few chapters to get into the story but once I did, I couldn't put it down!
Robin Spinney finds out that there is no one she can turn to when her policeman husband supposedly committs suicide and then his partner supposedly does the same after she asks him for help. Even changing her name and moving 1,000 miles away with her small daughter doesn't help. Like the review on the back says - "You can run but you can't hide".

A good book by Breton like normal, not my favorite, however I just got done reading it and it is a quarter to three in the morning, if that says anything about the book.
Fast reading, very hard to put down. Suspenseful to the very end, with romance mixed in.
Heartstopping at times, enjoyable characters and nice twist for ending
Great mix of on the run suspense and romance in small town Maine. Realistic secondary characters including teens, kids, and the hero's grandma along with relatable family dynamics.

The story line centers on the woman (and her daughter) in peril from lethal law enforcement officials who want to insure her silence even two years after she vanished. The hired gun though he makes limited appearances is an intriguing character while the Brogan siblings don't appear enough to make them as dangerous as they apparently are. Davy sees the Kendall females as his redemption, but has doubts he can do the job. Fans will enjoy this solid romantic suspense thriller with the emphasis on the paths leading to a High Noon confrontation.
