I'll give it one star because there is a semblance of decent story telling in the last 1/5 of the book. If you like the jumbled format of mTV, you may like this book. Shame on the Newberry committee.

Cute book, written from several viewpoints, so it was difficult to catch on in the beginning because their are several main characters in the book and it switches randomally from viewpoint to viewpoint. But it was a good book non the less.
This book very readable and funny, the characters are well-developed and interesting. I know it's intended for young adults but I have really enjoyed reading Ms. Perkins' books and plan to keep on reading her work.
"When I read this book I thought it was a good read, but for some reason I ended up reading it twice and asking myself "have I seen this movie or read this before?". I had a complete blank on this book and to this day I can only remember slight parts. This book may have gotten an award, but for some reason it left no impression on me what so ever..."
An easy, carefree book to read that anyone can relate to.A good book to forget about your troubles.

I really enjoyed the writing in this book. It's definitely a great book to read sitting on a lawn chair in your backyard, which I did. I think if I had read this when I was younger I would have given it 5 stars hands down.
