The good: Very clear and understandable even if you never touched a crochet hook in your life. Seriously, very good written instructions.
The bad: The illustrations leave much to be desired.
It's like being taught to crochet by a condescending 1950s mother-in-law who wants you to hold that hook HER way, which is very uncomfortable but LOOKS feminine. It's filled with outdated and annoying analogies which can possibly offend or even anger you. I've seen it happen. It's actually fun to pass around to watch your friends faces while they read it.
