This is the sequel to The Thin Pink Line and it is so much better. Jane isn't the same woman she was in the first book. This time around, she has found a baby she wants to raise as her own. The baby is not her race, however, so she knows she has to come clean about her fake pregnancy. The other characters are surprisingly accepting and even rally behind her while she's being investigated by social services. She does a few outrageous things but nothing like in the previous book. There were a few times when I was almost uncomfortable with the race discussions. Overall, however, I enjoyed it a million times more than The Thin Pink Line.
I loved this book just as much as the first one! Great story! Would love to read more abput Jane and Emma. Great chick lit!

I love this book. I love the character Jane Taylor. This is the 2nd book in her life. The first book is "The Thin Pink Line". In this book, it takes off where the first book left off. Right when Jane found a baby on the steps of a church in the 9th month of her fake pregnancy. This book goes thru a whole year, all about Jane and her new found baby Emma.
very funny and a touching story

An easy and fun read!
From dating to diapers without the stretch marks. Satirical look at motherhood, family relationships and racial identity.
I was very surprised by this novel. I expected it to be equally as bad as the first, but IMHO the author makes this situation a lot more realistic. I also didn't want to brain the heroine every 5 minutes, lol. It's a very light novel but it's also got some deeper overtones.

The cover did not match the book. I did not love this.
