As a fantasy reader, I'm used to slogging through the first 50 pages to get to know the characters, and get to the juice. Not so with this book. Absolutely dynamite sneak arounds, get-aways, traps, and excitement. Light, entertaining from start to finish, and I couldn't recommend it enough.
I enjoyed this tale, for a tale it is. Not a deep novel, or a tome of awesomeness, just a light, satisfying medieval era magic'ish type of story.
Definitely setting up for future events, so some threads of the plot are not completed, but they kind of simply disappear and do not detract from the current plot. It was well done, in my opinion.
Looking forward to the rest of the series.
