I think this is one of Wilbur Smith's best tales. Involves a British man and a Texan who, along with a journalist, travel to Ethiopia to deliver arms to be used to fight the Italians. Fast moving, never a dull moment.
Set in world war II Africa. Great adventure triller.
As always, Wilbur Smith delivers a fast paced tale with many surprises. This was an area of history that I had little knowledge of and I found it fascinating.
This is a pre WWII mystery taking place with the Italian invation of Ethiopia. An American and an Englishman take on the mission of delivering 4 ancient refurbished armored cars and an American Journalist, for a small fortune in gold. They are delivered into danger, intrigue and a struggle for their own lives.
A non-stop action thriller. He has written many adventure/thriller books and is a NY Times bestselling author.
This is quite atypical for a Wilbur Smith novel, great information about the Italian Ethiopian campaign (a bit anti Italian, no surprise there) and great adventure story with compelling characters. Love rivalry, smuggling, war, what else should you expect? Enjoy!
Typical Wilbur Smith adventure story, set in Africa. Action, history and romance entertainingly combined.
