I read this novel with my husband, each with our own copy. We had a great time. This is an excellently written novel, one that makes you care about the characters, even the man on death row. I loved it because it is set in my state of Oregon and she gets details about Oregon and corrections right for the most part. Even better this novel makes you think, wonder ask question and really think about your stance on the death penalty. All of this with a great plot twist. Highly recommended but you cant get it from me cause its a keeper.

Excellent, well-written book about what happens to a family when their teenage son/brother is murdered in their home and the killer is sentenced to death. Told from the perspectives of the family members and the man tasked with carrying out the execution. The story is about grief, hatred, forgiveness, and the harm of keeping secrets. I read the last 10 pages through tears. Highly recommended.
