It's been a while since I read this book. The main requirement I have with a Star Wars book is that it must feel genuine, meaning I can picture the characters doing and saying the things in the book. This book fulfills that requirement. The writing is better than the average Lucas script.
The book starts you in the action, which I usually like, but Vonda McIntyre's writing style felt a bit clunky to me. It was a book I had once started to read, put down out of boredom, but then picked up again for a lack of anything better to read. The second time I stuck with it and the book pays for itself by the ending. About three quarters of the way through the book everything that I thought was "filler" fell into place as a big piece of the puzzle was revealed. Another good addition to any Star Wars collection.
I love star wars books, and I enjoyed this one!
This must be one of the stupidest books ever written!
I can't think of much else to say. Probably the worst part was when some alien, (I quote from the book), "having spent enough time here, hopped into the portal to a parallel universe".
