Katarina "Kate" Gruener is an outgoing young lady interested in the stories and history of anyone she meets. This is the first book by Shannon McNear that I have read, but I certainly do not intend for it to be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! The characters were well developed, the story moved at a great pace, and the writing was not repetitious. The author obviously researched her subject carefully. Even the author's note and historical note were interesting. I would highly recommend this book to readers aged mid-teen and above.
