Did anyone see this?  Stephen Hawking was answering the question "Did God create the universe?"  It was facinating.  I don't want to spoil it for you, but the conclusion is: no, not possible.  His reasoning was facinating.

I have not seen it but thanks for the recommendation. I will check it out. I know hawking published a book that basically concluded the same thing a few years back, but I havenlt had the chance to read it yet.

Ah, one of those channels I'm too cheap to pay for.  I did read (actully listened to on audio) his most recent book, The Grand Design written with Leonard Mlodinow.  I don't remember it addressing religious views on a creator, but it was fascinating...if a bit over my head.

I will have to check it out!  The Grand Design is very good.  At the very end he concludes that the universe could have, in fact, been created from nothing without a deity.  The rest of the book lays out how.  I don't have a physics background so it was a bit over my head too, Matt, but I still found it very well written and interesting.
