At first I questioned myself as to why did I order this book, it's not normally what I read. But I figured I've got it so I'll try it. I found it a cute little 'cozy' mystery about a librarian who is hired to restore an organize the town library. She is followed home by two cute little kittens and welcomes them into her home and so begins an adventure with her two strange, mystical cats who fill her life with mystical happenings. Truly enjoyable cat mystery and the character of Kathleen, the librarian is perfect.

What an interesting book. The main character, Kathleen moves from Boston to small town Minnesota to oversee the renovation of the Carnigie library. She likes to bake, and take Tai Chi classes. Each chapter is named after a tai chi pose. Her friends have R names Roma, Ruby, Rebecca, but there is a Maggie, Ami, Lisa, and her parents back home. No real romantic ties, but I see it coming in the next book. Ok add to the town a bunch or related characters, an abandoned estate were feral cats live, two of which follow Kathleen home and warm up to her. Ok these cats are magical and lovable. One can disappear and one can walk through doors and they help her solve the mystery. Add a town full of musically talented characters, a dead guest conductor who has distant ties to about 4 of the towns characters and you have a mystery to solve.
The cats are great, the town characters are enjoyable, bring on books 2 and 3.

A big city librarian moves to a small town in Minnesota to help restore their library. Two feral kittens follow her home from an abandoned house and prove to be a little more than they seem. Kathleen is a strong character as are the other residents wer meet in Mayville Heights. Love the kitties! 4 stars

I have to say I wasn't really hooked on this book through the first couple chapters. The whole premise seemed a bit far-fetched to me. But as I read more I found myself liking it more and more, and really not able to put it down until I finished it. This author is a riot, and she has a great story line. Can't wait until the next in the series is published.

A fun read with interesting characters and a good plot. I look forward to watching the development of the characters in the next books in the series.

I didn't like this book as much as the first one. It just seemed too long and dragged out and I was able to figure out the culprit very easily. It wasn't terrible, but I am glad that it's done so I can read a different book.

I liked this book a lot. The characters were realistic and the story was pretty fast paced once the first few chapters were out of the way. I wasn't sure I'd be "thrilled" with the magical cats, but the author actually made them very believable- as you read, you start to really think they can walk through walls! A couple of little twists in the plot made it fun. I have added my name to the Wish List for her second book!

First time read of this author's work. Cute, entertaining cozy mystery. Characters are believable. Moved quickly and not too predictably. Book #1 in the Magical Cats series. Will definitely continue with the series.

I read a lot of cozy series simply because I don't like to say "Goodbye" to characters after just one book. I just discovered the Magical Cats series, and thoroughly enjoyed this first one. Looking forward to continuing this series. I am not a huge fan of "paranormal," but AM a huge fan of cats; so this series is just good fun for me.

It was a cute book but took awhile to get into the story. I thought the author did a good job making the cats special, but the story just seemed to take a long time to get to the end.
Great book. Loved the characters, especially the cats. Sofie Kelley creates a world that is totally believable, even the cats are portrayed in a believable light. There are times when my cat disappears into thin air...or seems to...
great read

Very enjoyable, light reading with enough mystery to keep me turning pages. I've ordered the next two in the series for myself and my aunt with whom I share books.
When librarian Kathleen Paulson moved to Mayville Heights, Minnesota, she had no idea that two strays would nuzzle their way into her life. Owen is a tabby with a catnip addiction and Hercules is a stocky tuxedo cat who shares Kathleen's fondness for Barry Manilow. But beyond all the fur and purrs, there's something more to these felines.
When murder interrupts Mayville's Music Festival, Kathleen finds herself the prime suspect. More stunning is her realization that Owen and Hercules are magical -- and she's relying on their skills to solve a purr-fect murder.

Quite enjoyable to read and I plan on reading more in this series.

I like cats but most "cat" books pale after the two series that I've read and enjoyed so much: Qillian's The Cat Who by Lilian Jackson Braun and the Mrs Murphy Cat series by Rita Mae Brown This promises to be an equally rewarding series just wish we had the rest of the series posted ;o)))

Cute book. A bit slow at times. At first I thought I knew who did it, then the twists. Good ending.
I loved it! Can't wait for the next one.........
